Das ehemalige Gebäude der Deutschen Bundespost am Konrad-Adenauer-Platz 1 in direkter Nähe zum Düsseldorfer Hauptbahnhof wurde durch die HIH Projektentwicklung GmbH umfassend saniert und umgebaut. Einige Flächen werden nach dem Refurbishment weiterhin von der Post genutzt, die anderen wurden neuen Nutzungen zugeführt. Für die Stadt Düsseldorf als Hauptmieterin entstanden Bereiche für eine Bibliothek, ein Theater, ein Archiv und die Verwaltung. Eine repräsentative Eingangshalle entstand neu und der Vorplatz wurde aufwändig umstrukturiert.
The former Deutsche Bundespost building on Konrad-Adenauer-Platz 1 in close proximity to the Düsseldorf central railway station is being extensively refurbished and converted by HIH Projektentwicklung GmbH. Some areas will continue to be used by the postal service after the refurbishment while others are being converted to new uses. Areas for a library, theatre, archive and administration are being created for the city of Düsseldorf as the main tenant. A new representative lobby is being added and the courtyard is being elaborately restructured.
