Bei Airbus in Hamburg Finkenwerder hat am Montag mit einem offiziellen Spatenstich der Bau des neuen Dienstleistungszentrums „Elbair“ begonnen. Am Werkseingang entsteht ein neuer Gebäudekomplex mit Büros, Hotel, Supermarkt, Gastronomie und Fitness-Studio - für Mitarbeitende, aber auch für Besucher. Bisher kamen pro Jahr rund 65.000 Interessierte auf das Werksgelände. Künftig will man die Kapazität auf rund 125.000 Gäste nahezu verdoppeln.
Der Neubau soll im Frühjahr 2024 eröffnet werden.

The construction of the new ElbAir service centre kicked off on Monday with the official groundbreaking ceremony at Airbus in the Finkenwerder quarter of Hamburg. A new building complex comprising offices, a hotel, supermarket, restaurants and a gym is being constructed at the entrance to the factory – for both employees as well as guests. So far, the factory premises have been visited by around 65,000 interested individuals each year. The aim is to nearly double the capacity to around 125,000 in future. The new building is set to open in spring 2024.
