Ist die BIM-Gesamtkoordination vor allem eine technische oder eine strategische Rolle? Diese Frage stand im Mittelpunkt des BIM Allianz Talks Anfang März 2026 bei David Chipperfield Architects in Berlin. Rund 40 Teilnehmende vor Ort und weitere 30 online machten die Veranstaltung der BIM Allianz zu einem lebendigen Austausch.
Unter dem Titel „Effiziente BIM Gesamtkoordination“ diskutierten Vertreter aus Planung und Projektsteuerung über die Weiterentwicklung der Rolle – bewusst auch aus der „Außensicht“ der Steuerung.
Als Mitglied der BIM Allianz hat unser BIM-Manager Simon-Martin Schultze gemeinsam mit dem Büro Built Effect die Veranstaltung konzipiert, organisiert und moderiert. Unser BIM-Bereichsleiter Marin Mandov war einer von vier Podiumsgästen und brachte die Perspektive aus der Projektsteuerung ein – im Austausch mit Vertretern von SMV Innovations, digitalPLAU GmbH und Hitzler Ingenieure.
Mit bewusst zugespitzten Thesen führte die BIM Allianz durch die Diskussion – etwa:
„Die BIM Gesamtkoordination ist primär eine strategische und keine technische Rolle.“
„BIM Management wird häufig als Kontrollinstanz wahrgenommen – und erschwert damit Zusammenarbeit.“
Das sehr positive Feedback zeigt: Das Format hat einen wichtigen Nerv getroffen. Eine Folgeveranstaltung ist bereits in Planung.
Is overall BIM coordination primarily a technical or a strategic role? This question was the focus of the BIM Alliance Talk held in early March 2026 at David Chipperfield Architects in Berlin. With around 40 participants in attendance and a further 30 joining online, the BIM Alliance event fostered a lively exchange of views.
Under the title “Efficient Overall BIM Coordination”, representatives from the fields of planning and project management discussed the evolving role – deliberately also from the “external perspective” of project management.
As a member of the BIM Alliance, our BIM Manager Simon-Martin Schultze conceived, organised and moderated the event in collaboration with the firm Built Effect. Our Head of BIM, Marin Mandov, was one of four panellists and contributed the project management perspective – in discussion with representatives from SMV Innovations, digitalPLAU GmbH and Hitzler Ingenieure.
The BIM Alliance guided the discussion with deliberately provocative statements – such as:
“Overall BIM coordination is primarily a strategic role, not a technical one.”
“BIM management is often perceived as a controlling authority – and thus hinders collaboration.”
The very positive feedback shows that the format struck a chord. A follow-up event is already in the planning stages.
